What do women who wear makeup look like? Well, they look like women.

The truth is, not everyone likes to wear make-up and that’s fine! But if you want to wear it because it makes you feel better about yourself or more confident or simply because you want a more polished appearance then go for it! It’s your face after all.

But make-up is not really for you, it’s for people who don’t look like you without it. It’s like someone wearing a wig. It’s not nice to tell someone they should take off their wig (because no one likes the look of forced hair) but if someone lets you in on why they’re wearing it (they like to look like someone else) and you can see they’re wearing it for themselves and not to trick or deceive anyone, then that’s okay.

But the same goes with make-up. Only wear it because you want to, not to impress other people. If you don’t care what other people think, then makeup is a wonderful thing. Not everyone is going to like it and that’s not your burden to carry.

Of course, if someone doesn’t want you wearing make-up because they’re insecure about you looking better than them then they need to get over themselves. Make-up is a tool which can be used for self-expression or for hiding who you actually are. It’s not a weapon to be used against other women. It certainly can’t be used as a form of currency or an indicator of how much you care about your looks. That would just be ridiculous, right?

So if you want to wear make-up and feel beautiful, then by all means go for it! As long as you’re being true to yourself and not trying to deceive any one then that’s just fabulous.

The truth is, don’t listen to what anyone else has got to say about it because who cares? No-one gets a trophy for being better at wearing makeup than anyone else.
